Planned Movement

We all know the importance of exercise, how it reduces the risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, etc.  We also know it helps improve mood and diminishes pain.  But do all of us do it regularly, and do all of us enjoy sweating at the gym or braving the elements to go jogging?

Planned Movement is a fun way of looking at physical fitness.  It exposes us to a type of movement that is fun, adventurous, innovative and exciting. It also shows us how movement or exercise doesn't have to be about pain!

This past year our Ageless Sisterhood experienced planned movement at Soul Sister Studio in Nanaimo.  This studio focuses on "delicious fitness for women" and an attitude of fun and play.  Our ladies, me included, rediscovered our playful side in a line dance, our coordination in a hooping class and finally our sensual selves in a pole dancing demo.  Did we have fun?  Oh baby, did we ever!  I think my stomach muscles got a workout from laughing more than anything!

We all had so much fun and learned some valuable lessons about ourselves and movement.  The type of class varies from community to community but I guarantee it will be a fun, bonding and enlightening experience!
